The downtown walks are made intimate by the turmoil of plaza creations, parks, resting places and cafés. Among the beautiful buildings of the downtown the Town Hall that was finished by 1873 in eclectic style and the 1892 finished County Hall are seen in their original pomp.

Sightseeing with smart phones
Today three tour track is available on iOS and Android smart phones – the Nyíregyháza Downtown Walk, Walk in Sóstógyógyfürdő and the Nyírség Excursion.
The interactive guides were made by PocketGuide road manager software which is a GPS based smart phone application. The application is downloadable free from Google Play Market and the Apple Store and near smart phones it can be used by tablets. Internet connection is needed just for only the downloading of the program, after this during the tour the application was planned for not using internet.
With the help of the program tourists can walk along alone on the tour routes, just like their personal guide shows the sights. The replay contains descriptions, pictures and sound, this makes it more realistic. The information is available also in Hungarian, English and German.
