Szeged offers many opportunities, not only for the lovers
of culture and history, but also for enthusiasts of active
tourism. While kayaking or dragon boating on the river
Tisza, we can explore its beauty, and during a sightseeing
cruise, we can enjoy the wonderful view of the river Ma-
ros Estuary and Boszorkánysziget (Witches’ Island). Th e
city’s embankment is an ideal place for joggers and Nordic
walkers, while cyclists can rent bicycles at various points
in the city to quickly reach the natural att ractions around
the city, such as the Wildlife Park or the Botanical Garden.

The renovated area of the Erzsébet-liget (Elizabeth Park)

offers modern running tracks, gyms, and sports fi elds for

sports enthusiasts. The migration and gathering of the Eur-
asian cranes is a unique natural phenomenon that can be
observed around the Fehér-tó (White Lake) near Szeged.
Szeged is a special place, because there are wells supplying

certified medicinal water on both banks of the river Tisza.

The Anna Water, discovered in 1927, thanks to its alkaline
hydrogen carbonate content, is suitable for the treatment
of musculoskeletal, rheumatological, and gynaecological
diseases, and as a drinking cure, we can use it to relieve di-
gestive complaints. In the historic building of the Anna Me-

dicinal, Thermal, and Adventure Spa, open until midnight
on weekdays, medicinal and adventure pools, infrared and
Finnish saunas are waiting for guests who wish to recharge
their batt eries. The pools of Napfényfürdő Aquapolis are

filled with the certified medicinal water from the Dóra Well

in Újszeged. In the four-season water city, with a water sur-

face of 4,400 m , fun and relaxation await visitors of every
age-group. 13 slides with a total length of 1,000 m off er the
pleasure of sliding, and the enclosed giant slides start from
the 30 m high tower equipped with an elevator.
