Near the flat of the Great Plain, the whole Mátra Mountain, the western part of Bükk Mountain and Mátraalja and Bükkalja belong to the county. Its surface is rich in water flows which water is collected by Tisza River. The western part of Tisza Lake belongs to here as well.
The medical effect waters of the area was already known in the XV century. During the Turkish reign in Eger more public baths worked from which the renewed Turkish Bath named, which was Arnaut pasha’s bath, waits for those who desire to heal even today. In Eger the Thermal and Amusement Bath lies on the territory of a beautiful, protected trees and plants dotted park. People who look for healing and refreshing arrive from far to the medical baths of Demjén, Bükkszék and Egerszalók and to the mofetta of Mátraderecske as well, where since October of 2012 the treatments can be resorted by the support of the state insurance.
