Petőfi has been walking among us unnoticed for 200 years.
He is a part of our everyday life through his poems, and
although museums and exhibitions preserve his spirit, the
tangible memorabilia of his age, his family, and person,
it was time to dust them off and give a new image and
content to the revival of the Petőfi cult. The Local Govern-
ment of Bács-Kiskun County brought the nation’s poet
closer to the people of the 21st century with the help of
publications, books and devices that were born within the
framework of the Petőfi commemorative years.
The two volumes each of Meseföld (Fairyland) and Le-
gendás út (Legendary Road) contain the history, the stories
and the legends of the towns and villages of Bács-Kiskun,
strengthening the patriotism and the attachment to the
homeland that Petőfi so often sang about. Exercise book-
lets were produced for both the children and the adults,
and postcards chronicling Petőfi’s journey through life and
a book presenting the Th ematic Petőfi Tourist Route were The cult of
also created. Anyone can walk through the most important
places of the poet’s life in Bács-Kiskun with a passport that
strengthens the preservation of the value of the memorial the poet
sites.
Thanks to the VR glasses, we can travel back in time to the
poet’s world, and step into the room of the small home, lives on
and we can also help in the printing of the National Song
at the Landerer printing house. Pepper, the fi rst domestic
