Wenckheim bicycle path

The four Wenckheim castles of Békés County are connect-
ed by a bicycle path: the castles are situated in Gyula, Gerla,

Póstelek, and Szabadkígyós. The thematic route showing
the cultural and architectural heritage of the Wenckheim

family offers a special experience to those who like cycling.
Póstelek
During the 19th century, Póstelek was part of the Wenck- Recreation,
heim family’s estate in Gerla. Wenckheim castle and the
remains of the estate’s park have been designated as a na-
ture reserve since 1989. Visitors to the estate can fi nd a trips
wildlife park, 3 hiking trails, a camping site, and a tavern.
Grain Museum

The museum was founded in 1974 with the aim of show- Nature and culture
ing visitors the history and memories of farming in the
Békéscsaba region of the Great Plain. Th e Békéscsaba
Knight Games (international tradition-preserving his-

torical festival) are organized here, which offer visitors a
colourful fair, medieval yurts, tents, military shows, and
handicraft sessions.
