THE LEGO FACTORY IN NYÍREGYHÁZA PROVIDES
JOBS FOR AROUND 3,500 PEOPLE, AND THANKS
TO THE TOYS PRODUCED HERE, IT BRINGS JOY TO
MILLIONS OF CHILDREN EVERY YEAR. ONE OF THE
FIVE FUNCTIONING LEGO FACTORIES IN THE WORLD
IS LOCATED AT 15 LEGO STREET, WHICH IS NOT ONLY
ULTRA MODERN AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY,
BUT ALSO REFLECTS THE WORLD OF LEGO TOYS IN
ITS APPEARANCE.

INCREASING CAPACITY
The family-owned Danish group of companies con nuously in-
creases its capaci es in line with the market demand. The factory

unit located in Nyíregyháza was opened in March 2014, and, since

then, the produc on units have been expanded in several places:
the complex now operates on more than 200,000 square meters. In
2023, the LEGO factory announced another large-scale investment
in Nyíregyháza: new produc on halls, warehouses and other ser-

vice buildings will be constructed, addi onal machine lines will be

installed - and new jobs will be created.
LOCAL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The LEGO Group considers it important to ac vely par cipate in
the life of its immediate environment, and, as a result, they organize
a number of programs together with their employees that make the
lives of the future players more playful, paying special a en on to
helping children who are in need for some reason. Recently, nearly
2,000 schoolchildren have been invited to the LEGO Kids Play Day
event held at the beginning of the summer.
Moreover, the LEGO factory also organizes valuable programs for
the wider public – thousands of people are spending the day with
playing and building at the free LEGO Toy City event in September.
SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
The LEGO factory in Nyíregyháza strives to minimize its environ-
mental footprint. To this end, a solar park producing enough energy
for 1,000 households is already opera ng in its area. As for the used

raw materials, the sugar cane-based plas c has appeared, and in-

stead of single-use plas c bags, paper bags are being introduced for
the packaging of the products.
The life of the LEGO factory in Nyíregyháza is all about construc-
