Élővíz (Live Water) Canal
The Live Water Canal, excavated by the residents between
1772 and 1777, played a key role in the development of agri-
culture and the transportation of wood cut in Transylvania.
Here, along the banks of the channel which starts from the
White-Körös River and falls into the Kett ős-Körös River,
a cosy sculpture promenade has been built, and the sculp-
tures preserve the memory of the famous people who are
connected to the town.
Széchenyi Park
One of the most charming parts of Békéscsaba is the park
on the banks of the Élővíz Canal, where the landscaping
was started in 1865 based on the plans of urban engineer
Ernő Sztraka. The park is our town’s ‘refreshing spot’ due to
its promenades surrounded by large, lush trees, fresh air, and
the singing of cheerful birds.
Árpád Spa and Swimming Pool
The Árpád Spa and Swimming Pool was built in 1927. It
has 10 swimming pools, including spa pools with water of
76 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius, where mainly
joint, rheumatic, and locomotor disorders can be treated.
The swimming pools and the training pool, with its giant
slope, as well as the indoor thermal pools, await visitors all
year round. There is also a special pool available for children
during the summer season.
CsabaPark
CsabaPark is an event centre to maintain the Csaba sausage
tradition, with a sausage museum, a sausage shop, and a
sausage-themed playground.
