Discovering a town through children’s eyes is much more ex-
citing than classical sightseeing, especially in Debrecen, where
you can fi nd something thrilling at every corner which provides
an unforgettable experience for each member of the family.
Even the town’s symbol, the Reformed Great Church, prom-
ises real adventures. It is a serious challenge to count the steps
leading up to the loft of the church, but it is worth it, because
the dome can be seen from the “inside out”. On the panoramic
bridge between the two church towers, even the biggest ones
KIDS’ look small, especially when the photo is taken from below. In
the school history exhibition of the museum of the Reformed
College of Debrecen, anyone, who does not fi nd the school’s
ADVENTURE curriculum too strict, can be a young pupil again.
However, every child wants to experience how to live like an
adult. In the Déri Museum, they can try it: they can become
STROLL a gingerbread maker or an archaeologist, or a scientist and
astronomer in the Agora Scientifi c Adventure Centre. In the
Chef Academy of Debrecen, children can learn to cook un-
der the watchful eye of a professional chef. If no profession is
exciting enough, the kids can dream up their own empire in
the Small World interactive playhouse or in the Vojtina Puppet
Theatre. At the Fog Theatre, the “toddlers” emerging from the
water surface tempt them to take a chilly walk “on the water”,
or, equipped as mountaineers, they can climb up the Water
Tower of Nagyerdő. In the Zoo, they can walk with the pen-
guins before or after they enjoy the amusement park.
Not even bad weather can spoil the fun because the indoor
adventure spa is open all year round. The slides, the wave
pool, the climbing wall, and the drift current pools guarantee
fun and excitement.
When the sun is shining brightly, you should enjoy the adven-
tures of the Nagyerdei Park and the Five Acre Park, the popu-
lar playgrounds of the town, or visit Kerekerdő Élménypark
(Round Forest Adventure Park) by the Zsuzsi steam train, and
lose yourself in the world of tales! The programme can be inter-
rupted anywhere and at any time, and resumed and repeated
over and over again!
