memorial house in Horpács, his former favourite place of
residence.
In Pásztó, after visiting the House of the Oskola (School)
Master, we can find the memories of Benjamin Rajeczky
and Kálmán Csohány, and the legacy of Gyula Benczúr
and István Szabó, Sr. in Benczúrfalva. Film director István
Gaál and the National Actor Ferenc Zenthe left lasting
traces in Salgótarján. Albert Szentgyörgyi showed an inter-
est in the natural sciences while growing up in the mead-
ows around Buják, and later became a Nobel Prize winner.
It is worth visiting the village of Buják, the scene of the
great scientist’s walks, which the painter Oszkár Glatz also
found beautiful. So much so, that he moved there to paint.
The self-taught gypsy painter and poet János Balázs lived
and worked in Salgótarján. He created a school with his
authentic art. Following in his footsteps, many gypsy art-
