The repository of values movement, launched in 2013, is in
full swing. Tolna County is a national leader in collecting and
exploring its values: a repository of values’ committ ee oper-
ates in 71 towns and villages, and in June 2022, 471 values
were included in the county’s repository of values.

The county’s traditions, local special dishes, drinks, handicraft
products, architectural and agricultural specialities, plants,
animals, natural values, and other outstanding and unique
values are protected by law: Act XXX of 2012 on the Hungar-

ian National Values and Hungaricums. The task of the Tolna
County Repository of Values’ Committee is to document

the national values found within the county and to send the
details to the Hungaricum Committ ee.

We consider the matter of the values to be of key importance,
although this is not just about exploring and collecting the
values, as the initiative also increases the cohesion of the
communities.

The collective that knows and lives its traditions and values,

builds its life more consciously. The repository of values
movement leads the people back to locality, creating commu-
nity thinking and care instead of individual thinking and care.
