Dive into the
experiences
Star Hall and splashing in the middle of a natural forma-
tion, which is absolutely unique in Europe. Its fi rst phase
was opened in 1959, and as a result of many developments,
today’s adventure spa was created. The water temperature
of 30°C and the climate of the cave have medicinal eff ects
and are recommended mainly for the treatment of joint ail-
ments. One of the many special features of the spa is that
the hot water karst spring has a low salt content, so you can
bathe in it as long as you want. In 2016, it won the title “Spa
of the Year”.
Bogács has its thermal water thanks to a “lucky accident”:
oil exploration wells were drilled in this area in 1955, but
The spa culture of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County is
unique. You can enjoy the healing effects of the thermal
water, swim in the cave passages created by Nature, drift
with the waves, or go on an adventure with your whole
family in a slide park - many spa experiences in a single
county. We guarantee that you will enjoy all of the pro-
grammes here!
Instead of hiking boots and raincoats, you should wear a
swimsuit and beach slippers in the Miskolctapolca cave. Th e
oldest cave spa of the country, and the only hot karst water
bath complex of Hungary, is found here. It is a rare treasure
where one can bathe in natural cave passages, drift along in
wild water, while listening to the mysterious echoes of the
then “water burst out of a hole” in October of the same
year. In the Bogács thermal and spa bath, the sulphuric
medicinal water with a temperature of 76°C, which comes
from a depth of 500 meters, is mainly recommended for
the treatment of locomotor and circulatory conditions.
However, even the youngest children will have enormous
fun in the spa: a slide park awaits you in Bogács. Th e ther-
mal water was declared medicinal in 2001. Once you have
“soaked yourself” in the sulphurous medicinal water of
the Bogács spa, we heartly recommend visiting the wine
cellars of the area to complete the “Bogács experience”.
